Nicole Reiner Freilich
Nicole is a mental health therapist whose personal journey with yoga began in 2010. After years of competitive gymnastics that took a toll on her physical and mental health, she segued her passion for fitness, technique, and physical expression into yoga. As both a mental health clinician and a student of yoga, she began to uncover how yoga and psychotherapy share powerful healing practices.
Nicole has observed that while we live inside bodies that do remarkable things for us everyday, we often ignore, overwork, and find fault with them. Her intention as a yoga teacher is to provide her students an opportunity to step out of the cerebral, shoulders-up world we live in and inhabit their bodies, appreciate their body’s innate intelligence, and reconnect with the present moment through mindful, exploratory movement.
Her classes aim to empower her students to cultivate present-mindedness and regulate the nervous system through use of body and breath, to discover habits of mind and body that no longer serve them, to learn ways to be with stillness and discomfort, and to accept whatever arises with an attitude of curiosity and compassion.
Nicole received her Yoga Teacher Training RYT®200 right here at mang’Oh Yoga and has received additional training in prenatal yoga from Childlight Education Company. She is grateful and excited for this teaching opportunity.
