Spring Renewal: A Retreat to the Hudson Valley

with Andrea Lodico & Marcus Berardino

April 10th-13th, 2025

Guided by Andrea Lodico and Marcus Berardino, we'll gather in early spring to immerse ourselves in the beauty of the Catskills as it awakens from winter for a weekend of renewal and rejuvenation.

We’ll journey to Lifebridge Sanctuary in Rosendale, NY, an idyllic spot in New York’s Hudson Valley – less than two hours from NYC where nature abounds. From Lifebridge’s practice space, we’ll take in dazzling views of the Catskills. Practices will include vigorous, playful vinyasa with restorative yoga and yoga nidra supporting deep rest. In between, we’ll relish in the spring mountain setting, blanketed with blossoming greenery, and wander Lifebridge’s 95-acre property. Quiet nooks beckon if you want to cozy up with a book while opportunities for local hikes and strolls around Hudson Valley’s charming nearby towns are plentiful. We’ll be nourished by delicious vegetarian meals by Chef Nick Foster.

Together, we will explore the power of stepping into the spring season of renewal as we plant seeds to nourish growth and beginnings and soak in the joy of community.

Having led retreats in Colorado and Sicily together, Andrea and Marcus are looking forward to offering the opportunity to retreat closer to home. On retreat with Andrea & Marcus, you’ll find a kindred, symbiotic approach to the yoga practice. We aim to offer you experiences in dynamic, intelligently aligned vinyasa flow and nourishing restorative practices, steeped in breath, meditation, and joy. We will practice together in community, dive into inquiry, soak in our gorgeous setting, and laugh. A lot. Our hope is you return home with a deeper connection to your practice, to a community, to yourself.

Andrea and Marcus will be joined by Chef Nick Foster who will create delicious locally sourced and vegetarian meals to nourish and delight.

  • Marcus found the practice of yoga in the 1990s after moving to New York. With a desire to be fit and healthy, but mostly to temper his new life in the unfamiliar fast lane of the big city, Marcus began exploring this ancient method of calming the mind at the local “sacred” YMCA. Following brief periods exploring several methods such as Ashtanga and Iyengar yogas, he decided to combine his professional skills as a NY State Licensed Massage Therapist with his deepening yogic discipline and completed his first of two yoga teacher certifications through Laughing Lotus, and his second training with Tias Little at Prajna Yoga. Marcus’s classes combine vigorous and inventive asana sequencing, along with breath awareness, yoga theory, alignment, humor, and lots of heart to invoke a sense of joy and celebration of one’s body and life. In 2012, during his time as a Health Coach in a Brooklyn medical practice, Marcus teamed up to develop 'Body Lab,' a yoga therapy workshop. Here, he used yoga, massage, and breathing techniques to assist patients in recovering from physical and mental challenges. These holistic practices continue to be an integral part of his healing approach today. In addition to teaching private and public classes locally, he’s taught yoga retreats around the globe in destinations such as upstate New York, Colorado, Vermont, India and Turkey. He’s been involved with several yoga teacher training programs with Prema Yoga Brooklyn. Life motto: Live as if you were to die tomorrow. • Andrea Lodico is a New York-based yoga teacher. She found yoga through dance, beginning a new journey of movement and discovery. In her teaching, she hopes to share the passion and peace she feels on the mat and provide students with an environment in which they uncover new insight, vibrant presence, and strength. Andrea infuses her classes with playfulness and dynamic sequencing in which students move through asana from a strong foundation of alignment. A vigorous and lighthearted practice works to encourage mindfulness of breathing and somatic awareness. Andrea is filled with gratitude for her teachers and the community that yoga has brought into her life, having completed a 200-hour certification at mang’Oh yoga in 2014 with Erica Whalen and her 500-hour training in 2017 at Boston Yoga School in Boston, MA under the mentorship of Ame Wren and Kevin Courtney. She received a 75-hour certification through Kula Yoga Project & The Sacred Fig with Nikki Vilella and Anton Brandt in September 2019. In 2024, I completed the Threes Physiyoga Advanced Teacher Training, a science-informed training that applies physical therapy principles to the foundations of yoga.

  • Nick Foster is a retired professional chef with almost 20 years of experience in the trenches. Having worked primarily in upstate NY, he lent his expertise to dozens of well-known establishments before ultimately opening a restaurant of his own -- a small farm to table bakery cafe. All Good Bakers in Albany was his first and only business endeavor and quickly became an iconic city staple with an almost cult-like following. Specializing in local, seasonal, and farm fresh food, Nick developed relationships with local chefs as well as upstate farmers and purveyors of quality gourmet food products, leading to work with the non-profit group The Chef’s Consortium of New York, which included the governor’s chef Noah Sheetz, among others. In 2012, he won the Rising Star Chef Award for the Albany Wine & Dine for the Arts Festival. Nick now works serving the people of the state of New York and reserves his cooking skills for home and yoga retreats with his partner Andrea Lodico.
