Why online yoga classes are AMAZING…plus, in-person classes resuming this month.

One year ago this week, we launched our online Livestream classes. We followed with our Video On-Demand platform just a few months later. It's been 12 months of moving, breathing and being together...even while apart.

We've seen the dedication of this community. Students attending classes daily, teachers showing up with encouragement and guidance, a lifeline in turbulent times. One year later, we're moving ahead and we’re looking forward to doing it together.

As studio owners & teachers, we’ve been awed by the benefits of an online practice—and we’re getting better at it all the time.

As we get ready to resume our in-person classes this month, we also know that online classes are here to stay at mang’Oh. Our plan in 2021 is to move forward with a hybrid (physical + virtual) studio so that you will have several options to practice, wherever and whenever you want.

At our core, we are a neighborhood yoga studio. But we know that the mang’Oh community is a vibrant one and often on the move. We love that our community has stayed strong even while evolving, and we’d love to support that into the future.

So…what makes online classes so AMAZING? And why are we willing to invest our energy into this platform as we move ahead in 2021?

We’ve learned a lot this year, and here are FIVE reasons we think online classes are part of the future:

1- Practice at any time.

Online classes offer a way a way to rejuvenate for the day ahead AND wind down after a busy day. With flexible on-demand classes and shorter formats, you can do both. This gives you a chance to manage your energy throughout the day with a practice that is customized to your own schedule.

2- Get personalized attention.

Online classes give you a chance to build more direct relationships with teachers—surprising, but true! The old studio model was lots of students packed into a single class, but that is no longer possible or desirable. Now, as we reconfigure our model, you’ll get more personalized attention from our incredible instructors. We’re a community studio filled with real people, so you can feel free to turn on your video or reach out to teachers directly before and after class with your questions, getting the personal attention you need to build a thriving practice.

3- Mix and match your classes.

We know that variety is the spice of life. It also makes sense for your body. Sometimes you need a restorative class to refresh your body and mind, while at other times, you need a powerful flow to get your heart pumping and your body moving. With online classes (both Livestream and on-demand), you can choose the class that makes the most sense for you today and mix it up tomorrow. We’re adding new classes to our roster every month, including our latest Core & More Express Class with Marissa on Thursday mornings.

4- Better results.

The physical and emotional benefits of a yoga and mindfulness practice are clear: increased strength, more flexibility, greater stamina, better immunity, less extreme emotions, more presence in your life. However, life gets in the way and makes it difficult to get to class. We have seen our students attending more regularly because of their online options—which is incredibly exciting and encouraging!

5- Getting committed.

Ultimately, our goal at mang’Oh is to foster a supportive community that will help you reach your goals, bringing your best self into whatever life offers you. We know that online classes have a role to play in this journey—and we’re here, every day, helping you make that journey with purpose and upliftment.
